Hauberk Progress

Reinforcement
It took a while, but here’s the full reinforcement piece I’ll be integrating into my Hauberk.
King’s Maille
I’ve considered adding a reinforced section to the Hauberk over the wearer’s heart. The weave for most of this piece is European 4 on 1, so-called because it’s a European style maille, and each ring passes through four others. Read more
Coif Construction
Most of the things you make when building a chain maille outfit are rectangular in shape. This outfit is going to be a bit different. My plan is to make several cylinders and join them together you see. But the Coif (that’s the part that covers the head is a bit different. Read more
That’s Long Enough
One of the cool things about European 4 in 1 chain mail is how it changes shape depending upon which direction you pull at it from. A piece hanging in its “natural” direction is typically much narrower across the same rings than when it’s turned 90° on its side. Read more
