Definitions matter

In a recent response to the Florida legislature passing a bill banning abortion after 15 weeks, our President said “Last night, the Republickan-controlled Florida Legislature passed a dangerous bill that will severely restrict women’s access to reproductive health care.”

This is, of course, a lie based on a twisting of words.

Providing abortions is not health care. That is, unless by “health care” you mean:

  • Providing a contract-killing of an unborn child.
  • Making it easier for the person procuring the contract-killing of an unborn child to survive the act of killing that unborn child in the womb.

If that’s the definition of “health care,” then it seems to me that this bill is a good thing.
