For those we lost, We will not forget 09/11/2001 “Our God given unalienable rights are given to us all as individuals. They tell us what me may do for ourselves, and they are the embodiment of liberty. The so-called rights that government gives to some of us are parcelled out to select groups as classes. They tell us what one class of people may require another to do for them, and they are the very essence of slavery.”

I’m a conservative or a “right wing extremist” as characterized by some in our government. I’m not quite as “right wing” as the John Birch society, but in this instance, I agree with them one hundred percent…

This is a republic, not a democracy - Let's keep it that way

This IS a republic and not a democracy, regardless of the propaganda you may have been fed in school or by the major media. And we really should keep it that way, or at least return it to that ideal.

This federal government is currently using bailout money to intimidate, and to payoff our private corporations, and by its use of these improper, and private backdoor coercions, they have effectively voted to dissolve the people, and elect another.

Our people must remember that this is imperatively a sovereign republic, and that it is the right, and the duty, of this represenitive republic, to check and to restrain this federal government.

Our State legislators must be made to realize how important it is that they no longer neglect their Constitutional right to communicate among themselves, to convene, and to structure, in positive ways, plans of cohesive opposition.

The current scene is de jure republic; de facto democracy. It is still within the hands of citizens to be able to "return it to that ideal [republic]" by peaceful means. Barely. But after four years--or even two--of blatant, open, MASSIVE disregard for the rule of law and concerted effort to remold the US as a banana "republic" we may not have a peaceful means to return to anything close to the Founders' ideal.

The problem with that is Republic sounds a lot like Republican, which is a bad word among Progressives. Let's continue to re-write history; the constitution and bill of rights could be called, let's see, something flexible, how about citizen's contract with government in progress.

David - If you really believe that there is some time left, maybe you and others could be of some help on this 10th amendment blog that I have found.
