For those we lost, We will not forget 09/11/2001 “Our God given unalienable rights are given to us all as individuals. They tell us what me may do for ourselves, and they are the embodiment of liberty. The so-called rights that government gives to some of us are parcelled out to select groups as classes. They tell us what one class of people may require another to do for them, and they are the very essence of slavery.”

Four views of Mt. Rainier

Published Wed, Jul 22 2009 8:34 PM

My wife works as a home care nurse. She frequently ends up taking care of patients in Pierce County, near Bonnie Lake and Buckley. She knows how much of a fan of Mt. Rainier I am, so tonight after dinner, we took a drive down to highway 410 to get some views of the mountain. The first two pictures were taken through the car window as my wife was driving along highway 167. The angle on these pictures is somewhat different from the usual angle I get to view the mountain from.

The next two pictures were taken between Bonnie Lake and Buckley along highway 410. This is more nearly 90° around the mountain from my usual view.

The Seattle Scottish Highland Games Association is holding their 63rd Annual Pacific Northwest Scottish Highland Games and Clan Gathering in Enumclaw this weekend. This year I have the privilege of dancing with the Plateau Scottish Country Dancers. It’s going to be fun, even if the weather is supposed to be hot (for here). I hope to be able to post some video of our performances next week.
