Even a four year old understands

Even a four year old understands, at least in this cute video. Now if only we could teach this to a few people in their twenties and thirties.
I wonder sometimes about those people in their twenties and thirties. Conversations with one twenty-three year old leave me in near despair at the twisted concept of freedom and entitlement that he has. We may have to wait for the generation after that to see a return to the real principles of individual responsibility and liberty. That twenty-three year old's fifteen year old brother understands.
Putting the people back in charge of their government is something that seems to me to be a worthy goal. But as long as the politicians are free to run our lives in their arrogance it won’t happen. And as long as the people remain ignorant about the true meaning of individual liberty (and not mere license) it may well be a dangerous thing as well.
Teach your kids about our founding! Teach them the meaning of the words in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Teach them about our history — not the politically correct “history” they’re spoon fed. Maybe then it’ll be safe to put citizens back in charge.

 | I do not believe we as the public, should determine the laws, I believe as our founding conventions of the people believed, laws should be determined by our legislators.
However, a Republic is, a Republic, so what may be, shall be.
and
I personally believe that we will lose our republic, if we wait much longer

 | ...are collective idiots. We have the government we have because "we" (a majority comprised of the greedy, stupid, ignorant and lazy) have continued to elect politicians *spit* who are greedy, stupid, ignorant, lazy and corrupt.
I'm handing out FairTax flyers today at the Tea Party I'm about to leave for. Maybe one or two will get into the hands of literate folks who are not too lazy (physically and mentally) to type in the link at the bottom of the flyer and actually learn what it's about and get involved.
Hope springs eternal. |

 | TEA Party report: medium sized town north of here (~30,000 residents). When Son&Heir and I arrived, there were better than 600 folks there, and as things progressed, more filled in behind us. About an hour "rally" taking up the whole street and municipal parking lot in fron of city hall and the police station (with spillover stretching to the bond business next to the police station with the big "Bailout" sign *heh*).
Passed out all our FairTax flyers and were asked frequently if I knew where a FairTax rally would be soon (I knew only of the "big" one in the State Capital in June).
Meeting closed with prayer and the whole crowd singing "America the Beautiful". Nice sized choir. :-) |

 | I and my wife went to a tea party in one of the smallest towns in IL, around 500 good people showed up. |
