Is your Senator forsworn?

According to The Hill… “The Senate voted to pass the DC Voting Rights Act on Thursday which would add a voting member of the House of Representatives to the District and Utah.” I remarked earlier this week on why this bill is unconstitutional. Now every Senator that has voted for this bill is forsworn. Remember, they are required by the Constitution to take an oath to support the Constitution. By voting for a bill that, should it become law, is in direct violation of the Constitution they have broken their oath.
It's an outrage and should not be tolerated. There is no honor among politicians anymore. But then, that's a corollary of the old adage that “there is no honor among thieves.”

JMB responded with:
 | This raptorial federal action, could be with the greatest of our national attentions, denounced, as an absolutely unconstitutional and flagrant abuse of our most precious Republic, or it can just be ignored, by a generation that will never be historically forgotten. |
ablur responded with:
 | To honor and uphold the constitution of the United States
I guess it would help if it was required reading.
When liars swear to do something how can we expect anything different then what we have? |
David responded with:
 | What?!? You expected anything else? You can count the number of senators that weren't ALREADY in violation of their oaths of office on the fingers of one hand and have at least enough left to give Congress the finger. This is simply the most recent, most obvious abuse of power in direct violation of the Constitution.
I still think we need a National Potomoc Day where the entire nation is invited to descend upon Congress and give Congress, "feddle gummint bureaucraps," admin and judicial branches (as well as any Mass Media Podpeople who attend) a chance to see how long they can breathe at the bottom of the Potomoc.
Well, it's a dream, and a guy can dream, can't he? *heh*

Stanford Matthews responded with:
 | Silly me, I was under the impression that the oaths were administered at the beginning of each session after an election, for the new guys, and as needed for any replacements the rest of the time. Like the recent photo ops showing confirmed nominees like the Queen of Cringe taking their oath or being sworn in.
Are you telling me that is not the case? |
Perri Nelson responded with:
 | No Stanford, I'm not. Each Senator before entering into office must take the oath. Still, that means that not a single Senator in office has not taken the oath. It also means that any Senator that voted for this abomination of a bill is forsworn. |
Angel responded with:
 | no honor indeed but massive corruption!:( |
Stanford Matthews responded with:
 | Thanks Perri, just needed a little clarification. |
