Scams

If you use computers and the Internet you've probably become familiar with one or more scams. There's the "Nigerian 419" scams, the "Make Money Fast" pyramid chain-letter. Both of these propagated through email. There's a far bigger scam being perpetrated on the world today, and many people are falling for it. The scam is the entire notion of "man made global warming".

KUSI News in San Diego's weatherman John Coleman has some excellent "global warming" resources. Here are a few highlights from one of his articles to whet your appetite.

"There is no significant man made global warming. There has not been any in the past, there is none now and there is no reason to fear any in the future."

"You may want to give credit where credit is due to Al Gore and his global warming campaign the next time you fill your car with gasoline, because there is a direct connection between Global Warming and four dollar a gallon gas. It is shocking, but true, to learn that the entire Global Warming frenzy is based on the environmentalist’s attack on fossil fuels, particularly gasoline."

"Worldwide there was a significant natural warming trend in the 1980’s and 1990’s as a Solar cycle peaked with lots of sunspots and solar flares. That ended in 1998 and now the Sun has gone quiet with fewer and fewer Sun spots, and the global temperatures have gone into decline. Earth has cooled for almost ten straight years."

"The cooling trend is so strong that recently the head of the United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change had to acknowledge it. He speculated that nature has temporarily overwhelmed mankind’s warming and it may be ten years or so before the warming returns."

I've written about the effect of the sun's magnetic field on "global warming" before (one of my earliest posts by the way). There's a strong correspondence between global temperatures and the observed number of sunspots. It's stronger than the correlation between global temperatures and CO₂ as well. In fact CO₂ concentrations have been shown to lag behind global temperatures.

The "global warming" phenomenon is supposedly driven by increased CO₂ in our atmosphere. The fact remains that despite thousands of years of combustion conducted by mankind, global CO₂ are only at about 385 parts per million. CO₂ is a trace gas in our atmosphere.

"To start with global warming has the backing of the United Nations, a major world force. Second, it has the backing of a former Vice President and very popular political figure. Third it has the endorsement of Hollywood, and that’s enough for millions. And, fourth, the environmentalists love global warming. It is their tool to combat fossil fuels."

Politicians and "diplomats" love "global warming" too. It is their tool to raise global taxes. Al Gore loves "global warming". It's his tool to large amounts of money through his business interests, heavily centered around "cap and trade", and "carbon offsets."

"On May 20^th, a list of the names of over thirty-one thousand scientists who refute global warming was released. Thirty-one thousand of which 9,000 are Ph.D's. Think about that. Thirty-one thousand. That dwarfs the supposed 2,500 scientists on the UN panel. In the past year, five hundred of scientists have issued public statements challenging global warming. A few more join the chorus every week. There are about 100 defectors from the UN IPCC." (emphasis added)

The "science" of "global warming" or "human induced climate change" is nowhere near settled. It's a major scam, and it's responsible for a host of ills, from higher taxes to higher fuel prices to higher food prices. Our economy is, according to some, "suffering". We have the "global warming" alarmist, who simply refuse to accept evidence contrary to their pet theory (it's only temporarily in retreat after all) to thank for it.
