For those we lost, We will not forget 09/11/2001 “Our God given unalienable rights are given to us all as individuals. They tell us what we may do for ourselves, and they are the embodiment of liberty. The so-called rights that government gives to some of us are parcelled out to select groups as classes. They tell us what one class of people may require another to do for them, and they are the very essence of slavery.”

Conquer or die

Thinking on the current situation in the war on terror, how many of us have thought about these words?

"We have therefore to resolve to conquer or die: Our won Country's Honor, all call upon us for vigorous and manly exertion, and if we now shamefully fail, we shall become infamous to the whole world."

Conservatives have been saying this for a while now. Liberals and Democrats have been dismissing it as ridiculous.

So who do you think said it? Would you believe it was George Washington? The PatriotPost's Founders Quote Daily gives us these words this morning. Here's the full quotation:

"We have therefore to resolve to conquer or die: Our won Country's Honor, all call upon us for vigorous and manly exertion, and if we now shamefully fail, we shall become infamous to the whole world.
Let us therefore rely upon the goodness of the Cause, and the aid of the supreme Being, in whose hands Victory is, to animate and encourage us to great and noble Actions."

-- George Washington (General Orders, 2 July 1776)

The founding fathers were full of timeless wisdom. Earlier this week I posted about their "failed" wisdom. It really wasn't their failure, it was the failure of generations that followed. What really failed wasn't the wisdom of the founding fathers, but the responsibility of the state legislators and the moral integrity of the "justices" on the courts.

Today, Liberals and Democrats constantly haranguing us to "bring the troops home" have once again forgotten the founder's wisdom. In the name of political power they would have us shamefully fail.

I agree, a portion of Americans have forgotten or just don't want to apply the logic of our founding fathers. They are not in this fight against Islamic terror to WIN. They want a cease fire, a negotiation or whatever. Muslims like Ahmadinejad don't negotiate because he believes he is on a religious mission. He truly believes he is the 12th Imam's propjet, spokesman, issuing the invitation to the world to accept Islam ... or suffer the consequences.
