For those we lost, We will not forget 09/11/2001 “Our God given unalienable rights are given to us all as individuals. They tell us what me may do for ourselves, and they are the embodiment of liberty. The so-called rights that government gives to some of us are parcelled out to select groups as classes. They tell us what one class of people may require another to do for them, and they are the very essence of slavery.”

Meet my great-grandparents

When I was in Tennessee visiting my grandmother and my mother and aunt, we talked about a lot of things from my family's past. My grandmother had somewhere close to 100 old photographs that had been pasted onto a sheet of masonite, which she kept on the wall at the head of her bed.

Some of these photographs were of her as a child, of my mother and aunt as children, and of the grandkids. Others were of my grandfather, and quite a few I have no idea about.

I've spent the day so far scanning these photographs and cleaning them up a bit. This photograph wasn't on that set, but it was one that I was given to scan as well.

This is my great–grandfather and great–grandmother on their wedding day.

That is so great! I took my mother's albums and have been scanning them and cleaning them up. She's wanting me to give them back - I've only had them for about 2 years! I was scanning like crazy in the beginning and the last of them are still here and I need to finish them up. Family history can be fascinating.
