One of the better sportsman racers at Pacific Raceways traded in his El Camino for a mostly stock 1979 Corvette. It has the original engine, but it's got an Air Gap manifold that's just a bit too big for the engine. The hood has been altered a bit (underneath) so that more air will flow out of the engine compartment, taking away some of the heat. It's also been lowered, and given a bit of a rake, and a nice looking set of wheels.
Like most mid to late 70's Corvettes, it's not a screamer. This one does the quarter mile in just a shade over 15 seconds, but it looks like a dream, both inside and out.
