Pinks — My buddy loses :-(

I just watched Pinks on SPEEDtv tonight. My buddy Jim Evans was racing. From what I recall, this must have been at least his second time on the show, because they taped him racing at Pacific Raceways last fall. This episode was about 2,000 miles from there, based on things they said on the show. I know the track wasn't Pacific Raceways though. His opponent had problems on the first two rounds and lost by about 5 car lengths. In the third race, Jim gave away 5 car lengths at the start, and lost by 3½ lengths.

Unfortunately for Jim, his timing belt broke and the engine seized up. With the engine dead, Jim lost his car. He came away with $32,000 though, so as he said, he traded $32,000 for a car with a seized-up engine. Not a bad deal, but I really liked watching him race that car.

By the way, I'm still selling my 11-second 1979 Corvette. If you're interested in buying a racecar, send me some email. Here's a picture of it.

Come on... everyone should drive a racecar at least once in their life!

I watched the Pink's show with Jim Evans racing his White Corvette, and that was that one of the best Pink's show I've seen in a while. I wish his Vette didn't seize up so He could take the guys car and money, but $32,000 is a good price for a beat engine. Do you have any more info on his team? That was a very fast car that hooked up like a charm. just wish mine was that quick....
