For those we lost, We will not forget 09/11/2001 “Our God given unalienable rights are given to us all as individuals. They tell us what me may do for ourselves, and they are the embodiment of liberty. The so-called rights that government gives to some of us are parcelled out to select groups as classes. They tell us what one class of people may require another to do for them, and they are the very essence of slavery.”

Now It's Dish Network

There are times when I think technology hates me almost as much as I distrust it. This time, it's my satellite TV system.

I'm a Dish Network subscriber. When I come home from a long day at work I like to sit down in my recliner, kick up my feet, and watch a little television. It's usually a semi-innocuous way to wind down after a long day.

Not tonight. I've got two receiver boxes hooked up to the same dish. That's the way the Dish Network guys hooked things up. Both boxes have two receivers/tuners so I can have four different programs on in the house at a time.

That comes in handy when my wife wants to watch one of her favorite shows, and I want to watch something else, and Lucas wants to watch something else, and Zachary wants to watch still something else. Hey, it has happened.

Not tonight though. Tonight, the receiver box with the built in DVR can't get a satellite signal. On either tuner. Strangely the other receiver box has a signal on both tuners. According to the diagnostics on the DVR box, there hasn't been a signal for six hours.

It's really weird. It's the same dish for both boxes. Naturally the expensive box is on the fritz.

Oh well... there's not really anything on anyway.

I can't connect to Dish Network's Web Site either right now.

Oh well. I suppose I shouldn't whine too much. I still have one working satellite system.

Well, now I can connect to their web site, but it's running really slowly.

I don't like the options at this point. I'd hate to have to replace the receiver. If that ends up happening, I may give in to my wife's desires and switch back to cable, with the new integrated voice, digital cable and high-speed internet package.
