For those we lost, We will not forget 09/11/2001 “Our God given unalienable rights are given to us all as individuals. They tell us what we may do for ourselves, and they are the embodiment of liberty. The so-called rights that government gives to some of us are parcelled out to select groups as classes. They tell us what one class of people may require another to do for them, and they are the very essence of slavery.”

What do Microsoft's Windows Vista and Microsoft's Visual Studio 2003 have in common?

Apparently only the name "Microsoft". Microsoft won't support Visual Studio 2003 running on Windows Vista.

They also won't support Visual Studio 2005 (their latest version) running on Windows Vista, not even with Service Pack 1.

No.

You've got to get a "special" service pack.

They won't support SQL Server 2000 running on Windows Vista either. You have to get SQL Server 2005.

Now I'm annoyed.

That's a lot of money to shell out for a new OS only to find that you need to upgrade all of your development tools too.

Even with a steep discount as an MS-Alumnus it's a lot of money. There goes my software limit for the year :-(
