For those we lost, We will not forget 09/11/2001 I consistently believe that when it comes to whether it's Native Americans or African-American issues or reparations, the most important thing for the U.S. government to do is not just offer words, but offer deeds.”

Was Alexander Litvinenko a Martyr of Islam?

From Right Truth

Alexander Litvinenko is the former KGB agent who died in London on November 23 after ingesting a microscopic amount of polonium-210. Litvienenko blamed Russian President Vladimir Putin for his strange illness and ultimate death. Now more than one source is suggesting that Litvinenko had ties with radical Islamists and that he may not have been killed by Putin.

Go read the post. There's a lot of stuff there that points to the real possibility that Litvinenko may have accidentally poisoned himself. Some of it's old news, like the fact that Litvinenko converted to Islam just before he died, but it's still worth re-examining the case with an open mind.

I'm still not sure. I've thought all along that this was something that the Putin administration may have been responsible for. Now with these speculations there's yet another side of the story to consider.

We may never know the truth.

Not enough time to get it right.

That's what the "expert" panel tasked with reviewing "tunnel light" has to say about their rush job. They don't have enough time to let the people know if they can trust the city of Seattle's cost estimates for Greg Nickel's latest legacy building scheme. From the Seattle Times:

A panel of outside experts, flown into Seattle this week to study a four-lane Alaskan Way tunnel and other highway options along the waterfront, dissolved itself this afternoon, saying there's not enough time to do its job right.

Legislative leaders and Gov. Christine Gregoire recently re-called their Expert Review Panel and gave it a deadline of Tuesday to answer several questions, including whether the public can trust the city government's cost estimate of $3.4 billion for a four-lane tunnel.

...

City ballots will be mailed out Feb. 21 to Feb. 23, without benefit of advice from the panel, which was appointed last summer by Gregoire and legislative committee leaders to study the Viaduct and Highway 520.

There's not enough time for an expert panel to review the cost estimates. They were thrown together hastily in a last-ditch effort to get a tunnel that the people of Seattle might agree to.

If the question is "can you trust the cost estimates prepared by the city" I think the answer is pretty clear. There's no way you can trust them.

Oh... that's right... they're politicians.

Their foolishness never ends.
