My son Lucas is a member of the Merle E. Luther chapter of the Order of DeMolay. This is an organization that helps young men learn to be leaders and builds character and business skills. It's also an organization that provides lots of opportunity for social development, recreation and some rather odd fun.
Today, the chapter held it's annual “Turkey Bowl”. This is a football game of sorts, but I'm fairly certain that P.E.T.A. wouldn't approve (not that I care). Instead of playing with a football, the game is played with a raw, whole chicken liberally coated in vegetable oil.
Naturally, a raw chicken isn't going to suffer being used as a football well. You could certainly say that this one was well tenderized.
It was a game of football, and so naturally I was there to provide instant replay support with the video camera. And of course, you get subjected to the game highlights reel…
