The liberals in Oslo have gone mad

Al Gore is this year's co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. It seems that lying and otherwise distorting the truth is the way to win in Oslo. It worked for Arafat, and now it's worked for the author of at least nine inconvenient lies.

The other co-recipient was the International Panel on Climate Change. It seems that unproven, politically motivated pseudo-science is all the rage in Oslo. A consensus of scientists and political hacks, most of whom aren't even in the field of climatology trumps evidence that climate change  is not man made.

Gore's film "An Inconvenient Truth," a documentary on global warming, won an Academy Award this year and he had been widely expected to win the prize.

"His strong commitment, reflected in political activity, lectures, films and books, has strengthened the struggle against climate change," the citation said. "He is probably the single individual who has done most to create greater worldwide understanding of the measures that need to be adopted."

Perhaps that political activity, those lectures, and his films and books would mean a bit more if our new Nobel laureate practiced what he preaches. It's not the first time the liberals in Oslo have rewarded fraud.

Will we be subjected to another run for the White House now?

Update: It seems that the academy is being asked to rescind the Oscar for "best documentary" since An Inconvenient Truth has been found to be a work of fiction.
