Will Al Gore inconveniently win a Nobel Prize despite the inconvenient lies and outright political bias of his signature film? Perhaps he'll win it because of them. It's a good bet that Rush Limbaugh won't be winning, at least not when the same committee that thought that Former President Carter was worthy of one for his anti-Semitism.

I'm sure by now that just about everyone knows that "we've got to shut down" the prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The U.S. is so evil for holding enemy combatants for an indefinite period of time during a time of war.

Well now a federal judge is blocking the transfer of a "club gitmo" inmate to his native country. Why you might ask? Because he might be "tortured or killed".

Wait a minute... Isn't that why the left wants us to shut down the prison?

So the United Nations is finally doing something about the genocide in Darfur. They're sending in thousands of "peacekeepers".

The problem is they're not equipping the troops properly. They've even turned down help from a nation that's offered to supply 10 transport and attack helicopters as reinforcements. Sudan refuses to allow our pilots to participate in the mission, and the U.S. refuses to supply the helicopters. The U.N. has turned down the helicopters from Jordan.

This is one "International" crisis that the U.S. is staying out of. Like the left says, we can't be the "world's police". Even so, how long do you think it will be before President Bush is attacked by the Democrats for not supplying the equipment? OK, maybe it won't happen this time, but the left has been agitating for us to get involved in Darfur, even while they argue we should stay out of the places we've gone.

I thought there was a "war on drugs". When I was a kid in elementary school and junior high, I had to attend seminars about the dangers of drugs presented by local police and K-9 units. My kids had to go to "Drug Abuse Resistance Education" ("D.A.R.E. To keep kids off drugs") in school a few years back. That program has ended, but we still hear about the war on drugs from time to time.

I guess the strategy has changed, at least it has in Great Britain. There, your teachers will supply you with drugs, to help win the war on drugs.

Cooper said the cannabis police found in her house had been for her own use and described herself and her partner of 25 years, engineering company director Ian Leppard, 51, as "liberal parents".

Hmmm...

District Judge David Cooper accepted Cooper had been "a good teacher" but accused her of "sheer arrogance" in acting as if the law did not apply to her.

Liberals and "sheer arrogance". I wonder if Cooper and/or Leppard are related to Al Gore?
