That's right, I'm a drug addict. Let's get it out of the way now so that I have a future political career. It worked for Sen. Obama didn't it?
Oh, and in the interest of full disclosure, I used to take a whole bunch of other drugs in the past, but I don't any longer. That shouldn't be a problem though, I was young. Surely you'll forgive me for youthful indiscretions when I run. We don't need to go into the details. Oh that's right, I'm a Republican, so I'm screwed anyway.
What's that you say, my current drug addiction will disqualify me? Hey, come on that's not fair!
What drug am I addicted to? Caffeine. Here's a perfect graphical depiction of my dependency...

Right now I'm somewhere on the upside of the fifth cup on the curve... later in the day, sometime around when I fall back to normalcy (whatever that is) I'll have to have more coffee. We don't need to see another triple shotgun murder after all.
The image above was sent to me by a friend via e-mail, so I had to share. I did a little digging and found out that Tom Edwards has a lot of other cartoons on his website. Most of them are on various pottery items that he sells, including coffee mugs, bowls and plates. He's also been an award winning editorial cartoonist for The Canyon Courier, The Columbine Courier, and The High Timber Times.
Seeing the image reminds me of an episode of Futurama. In that episode, Fry decides to spend his $300 on 100 cups of coffee. Throughout the episode he gets jittery, and very wired. Near the end, just as a disastrous fire that could kill all of the series regulars breaks out he completes his 100th cup. Suddenly, he reaches the peak of the caffeine curve, and everything suddenly moves in slow motion, even the flames and the beat of a hummingbirds wings. He gathers everyone up, puts them onto a rolling table and gets them all out of danger. After everyone is rescued, Leela remarks that they were all saved by an "orange blur".
One of these days, I wouldn't mind being an "orange blur". I don't think I could drink 100 cups of coffee to get there though.

Trust a Terrorist to Lie

You can always depend on one thing. Islamic terrorists are lying thugs bent on murdering others, and sometimes each other. They have a common goal, to bring down the west, and Israel in particular.
To achieve that goal, they'll do just about anything. They'll drop unprovoked missiles on Israel. They'll blow themselves up. And they'll lie about their reasons.
YIDwithLID has a post that brings this home. He quotes a World Net Daily article in which Abu Ahmed appears to deny his own words from last week.
It gives Hamas a chance to govern during quiet times and not during Israeli operations in Gaza, during which the Palestinian take some frustration out on the Hamas government. Fatah wants violence and Israeli retaliation to generate opposition to Hamas," the source said.
But Abu Ahmed denied the accusations:
"This is totally wrong," said Abu Ahmed. "Our shooting is taking place when there are Israeli crimes, especially in the West Bank. Our shooting at the end of the day is directed against the Israeli enemy and aims first of all to clarify that we will react when our people and militants are hurt."
But last week he had something different to say.
The Iranian-backed militant group Islamic Jihad is firing Qassam rockets at Israel with the intention of sabotaging the month-long Gaza truce and provoking Israeli retaliation, members of the group said Wednesday.
"That's one of the main reason for resuming [rocket] attacks," said Abu Ahmad, a spokesman for the group.
Of course the real goal of all of this is to discredit Israel when they retaliate. Recently the IDF attempted to arrest
And of course claims that Israel's attempts at peace are "fake" from Abbas. It's yet another case of the pot calling the kettle black.
Islamic terrorists are liars with only one goal in mind. Anyone that thinks they're truly interested in peace only has to look at their actions... and remember their words.

Haniyeh, Abbas agree to defuse tensions in Gaza after six die - Another Hamas - Fatah cease-fire.
Abbas slams 'fake' peace moves as IDF kills four in Ramallah raid - It's blame Israel time again as Israel moves to arrest al-Aqsa Martyr's Brigade.
So which peace moves are really fake? Hamas and Fatah have been fighting each other, but they still keep kidnapping each other's people.
Meanwhile, there's a "truce" between Israel and Hamas and Fatah in Gaza, but the al-Aqsa Martyr's Brigade, together with Islamic Jihad have been trying to provoke attacks by Israel for over a week. Israel tries to arrest one of the perpetrators, and gunfights break out. So naturally it's the Israeli's fault.
Senator Reid and Speaker Pelosi promised a new era of cooperation after years of partisan passion and gridlock. I guess cooperation and "bipartisanship" have a special meaning to Democrats just like "cease-fire" does to terrorists. Apparently cooperation and bipartisanship are defined as keeping the other party from being able to read or debate upon legislation or to introduce alternatives.
Yeah, that sounds about right. I think I've noted that when Republicans are in power "bipartisanship" means "minority rules". Now when Democrats are in power it means suppressing the minority.
Remember last week in the New York Times how the Islamists in Somalia were defeated? Back then I told you how the Times was practically mourning the defeat of the "grassroots" movement, and praising the Islamists for bringing in peace and "order".
I said then that it looked like an echo of Iraq. Now it's starting to sound like it again. And naturally, the Times is misty-eyed over how orderly things were under the Islamists:
