Tuesday Open Trackbacks

For the last couple of months I've been playing the Blogshares fantasy blog stock market. It's a pretty fun game, once you figure out what you're doing. One of the cool things is to add your blog to the index and to track its valuation. Another cool thing is to buy shares in other peoples blogs and track them.

It's sort of like investing in stocks, but it's all fake money. You can also gamble after a fashion. Blogshares has this thing called "chips". You can get chips lots of different ways, by answering anonymous polls on the site, or by voting on the "industry" that blogs belong to. You can then use the chips for various things, but one of the fun things you can do with them is play "Blogshares Chances".

It costs 10 chips to play, but you can win shares in other blogs, win more chips, or win a commodity called "ideas". That's where the big B$ money is...

Another way you can get chips is to report errors in the Blogshares index. I had no idea that there were so many dead blogs out there. Or that there were so many blogs in totally incomprehensible (to me) languages. Anyway, it's a lot of fun.

And it's an interesting way to find blogs you might not otherwise consider looking at.

Socialist Terrorism?

By now you've heard about the bombing of the U.S. Embassy in Greece. What's really interesting about the U.S. Embassy bombing is who's to blame. A group called "Revolutionary Struggle" has claimed responsibility for the bombing. From  The Olympian:

ATHENS, Greece - Greek authorities blamed domestic militant groups Friday for the early morning attack on the U.S. Embassy.

...

Police are examining the authenticity of two calls claiming responsibility from the group Revolutionary Struggle, which has carried out six bombings since 2003. The shadowy group has criticized the United States in past statements, citing treatment of prisoners at the U.S. military detention center in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

So who is "Revolutionary Struggle"? Well, they're not Islamic Extremists. No, they're a bunch of socialists, or maybe even anarchists. The same political philosophies that drive the left in the U.S. today.

The same political philosophies that drive groups like International A.N.S.W.E.R. and other groups that have been against the war on terror. That's right, the anti-war crowd shares political philosophies with the latest breed of terrorists to strike out against our country.

Is anyone surprised?
