Is this really any surprise?
TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh told thousands of Iranians on Friday that his Hamas-led government will never recognize Israel and will continue to fight for the "liberation of Jerusalem."

The U.S. "and Zionists ... want us to recognize the usurpation of the Palestinian lands and stop jihad and resistance and accept the agreements reached with the Zionist enemies in the past," Haniyeh told worshippers at Tehran University.

"I'm insisting from this podium that these issues won't materialize. We will never recognize the usurper Zionist government and will continue our jihad-like movement until the liberation of Jerusalem," he said.

Haniyeh arrived in the Iranian capital Thursday for four days of talks with Iranian leaders including hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has called for Israel to be "wiped off the map."

Iran had close ties with Israel when the late Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was in power. When the 1979 Islamic revolution toppled him, Iran broke ties with Israel and turned the Israeli Embassy in Tehran into the Palestinian Authority Embassy.

How could the ISG recommend that we negotiate with these animals? They absolutely refuse to even abide by agreements they have made in the past.
Anyone that truly believes that Israel is the cause of the troubles in the middle east had better pull their head out of the sand. Hamas and Iran have a primary goal in common, the destruction of Israel.
Yet time and time again, when Israel asserts her right to defend herself, the U.N. calls her the aggressor. When Israel strikes back, she is always condemned.
Maybe Israel should stop listening to both the U.N. and the U.S. and just go ahead and wipe these animals off the face of the Earth. Maybe the world could benefit from few square miles of glowing glass in the desert.

It sounds more like obstruction of justice.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The chief law enforcer in two Utah-Arizona border towns is accused of misconduct after writing a letter pledging love and allegiance to the leader of a polygamous sect, who was on the FBI's most wanted list at the time.

The Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board is using the letter as evidence in one of three misconduct charges against Barlow, who could lose his certification. The Salt Lake Tribune obtained the letter and published it Friday.
Separately, the Utah Peace Officer Standards and Training Council this week voted to conduct its own probe of the police force, whose officers are accused of being too loyal to Jeffs.

No Violations in Foley Case

WASHINGTON, Dec. 8 — House Republican leaders were negligent and in some instances “willfully ignorant” of former Representative Mark Foley’s improper advances toward male pages even though they broke no rules in handling the matter, the House ethics committee said today.

But the ethics panel found that Democrats were not blameless as rumors about Mr. Foley swirled on Capitol Hill and threatened to explode into scandal. While not speculating on the motives “for those who failed to fulfill their responsibilities,” the panel offered several possibilities.

Representative Howard L. Berman of California, the committee’s ranking Democrat, said the Foley affair had been investigated fairly and without partisan motive. “This is not a jury-rigged result of a series of compromises,” he said.
"Democrats were not blameless". Hmmm...

Dem's Lied, People Died!

John W. Lillpop over at Basil's Blog has a list of statements by prominent Democrats and liberals that prove that their plans to investigate the "faulty intelligence" that led up to the war in Iraq are nothing more than grandstanding. Sen. Harry Reid has said "We are going to look on how the intelligence was manipulated prior to going to war".
Now that the bipartisan Iraq Study Group has issued it’s report, there seems to a pandemic of “selective amnesia” among Democrats concerning the genesis of the Iraq war.
Here's a list of names he cites: Madeline Albright, Sandy Berger, Barbara Boxer, Robert Byrd, Wesley Clark (Saddam's Defense Attorney!), Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Tom Daschle, John Edwards, Dianne Feinstein, Harold Ford, Dick Gephardt, Al Gore, Bob Graham, Tom Harkin, Jim Jeffords, Ted Kennedy, John F. Kerry, Tom Lantos, Carl Levin, Joe Lieberman, Barbara A. Mikulski, Patty Murray, Nancy Pelosi, Scott Ritter, John Rockefeller, Arlen Specter, Henry Waxman, and last, but not least, Jacques Chirac.
There are pre-war quotes from every one of these individuals making various assertions about whether Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, used them against his own people, and whether he was an imminent threat to the United States. Will Harry Reid's examination of pre-war intelligence go as far back as the 1990's? Somehow I doubt it.
