A first year teacher in Smithfield North Carolina gave students a word search puzzle as an assignment. Students were to translate words and find them in the puzzle. Here are a few of the messages in the puzzle as reported by WRAL in Raleigh North Carolina:
- "Sharon killed a lot of innocent people," a possible reference to former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
- "Palestine is not a terrorist group."
- "Allah help destroy this body of evil making humanity miserable."
The instructor also teaches Arabic at an Islamic religious school. He had recently seen a news story that upset him when he wrote the assignment.
According to the article on the WRAL website, the teacher resigned immediately on hearing of an unspecified complaint. Authorities have declined to take this any further.
This man looks like he could have a future at the United Nations helping to spread the gospel of Kofi.
