For those we lost, We will not forget 09/11/2001 “Our God given unalienable rights are given to us all as individuals. They tell us what me may do for ourselves, and they are the embodiment of liberty. The so-called rights that government gives to some of us are parcelled out to select groups as classes. They tell us what one class of people may require another to do for them, and they are the very essence of slavery.”

Rep. Charles B. Rangel (D - N.Y.), Hypocrite

So Mr. Rangel is reintroducing a bill to bring back the draft, after he introduced one back in 2003 and then voted against it. By the way, among those voting for it was Rep. John P. Murtha (D-Pa.), that's right, Cut-And-Run Murtha at the time wanted more troops in Iraq, before he started calling for a complete withdrawal.

From the October 6, 2004 Washington Post

Rumors of reinstating the military draft, which have flourished for months in panicky e-mails, online chat rooms, college dorms and student newspapers, suddenly dominated the House floor yesterday in one of the strangest parliamentary maneuvers in memory. With even its sponsor voting against it, a bill to require young adults to perform military or civil service failed, 402 to 2.

I guess they forget that their record is still available in public view.
