The Church of England Advocates Murder!

A couple of days ago, I noted that the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecology had advocated "active euthanasia" or the murder of disabled newborn children. Now even the Church of England is advocating murder.
The Church of England has broken with tradition dogma by calling for doctors to be allowed to let sick newborn babies die.
Christians have long argued that life should preserved at all costs - but a bishop representing the national church has now sparked controversy by arguing that there are occasions when it is compassionate to leave a severely disabled child to die.
How the Church of England can advocate murdering newborn children is beyond me. This is absolutely monstrous!
In Matthew 18, verse 14, it says "Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish". Luke 16, verse 2 says "It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones."
It is plain that the Church of England has set itself against God and violates the teachings of Jesus. They have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are a false church and unworthy of respect.
If the Church of England isn't false, it should condemn the so called "teachings" of Bishop Butler.

Annan - No Intelligence

ISTANBUL, Turkey, Nov. 13 (UPI) -- U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan rejects the notion differences between Islam and the West amount to a clash of civilizations.
After accepting the High-Level Group of the Alliance of Civilizations' report in Istanbul Turkey, the secretary-general Monday called for better education and opportunities for youth, along with resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to stem mounting mistrust and violence between Islam and the West.
...
"Any strategy to build bridges must depend heavily on education -- not just about Islam or Christianity, but about all religions, traditions and cultures, so that myths and distortions can be seen for what they are," the secretary-general said.
In addition, he advocated expanded opportunities for young people, offering them a credible alternative to hate and extremism.
Said Annan, "We must give them a real chance to join in improving the world order, so that they no longer feel the urge to smash it."
Leave it to Kofi Annan to reject the obvious.
Al Qaeda "grew up" fighting against the Soviets in Afghanistan, and Soviet Communism is definitely a product of Western Civilization. Now, Al Qaeda certainly seems to think that the clash is between Islam and western civilization, in particular between Islam and the United States. In their own words...
Claiming that America had declared war against God and his messenger, they [Bin Laden and Zawahiri] called for the murder of any American, anywhere on earth, as the "individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it."
and again...
al Qaeda's answer was that America should abandon the Middle East, convert to Islam, and end the immorality and godlessness of its society and culture: "It is saddening to tell you that you are the worst civilization witnessed by the history of mankind." If the United States did not comply, it would be at war with the Islamic nation, a nation that al Qaeda's leaders said "desires death more than you desire life."
and again...
"when it becomes apparent that it would be impossible to repel these Americans without assaulting them, even if this involved the killing of Muslims, this is permissible under Islam." Asked if he had indeed masterminded these bombings, Bin Ladin said that the World Islamic Front for jihad against "Jews and Crusaders" had issued a "crystal clear" fatwa. If the instigation for jihad against the Jews and the Americans to liberate the holy places "is considered a crime," he said, "let history be a witness that I am a criminal."
In Al Qaeda's view...
America is responsible for all conflicts involving Muslims. Thus Americans are blamed when Israelis fight with Palestinians, when Russians fight with Chechens, when Indians fight with Kashmiri Muslims, and when the Philippine government fights ethnic Muslims in its southern islands. America is also held responsible for the governments of Muslim countries, derided by al Qaeda as "your agents." Bin Ladin has stated flatly, "Our fight against these governments is not separate from our fight against you."
Source: 9-11 Commission Report, Chapter 2.
Osama Bin Laden has stated it clearly. The only way that the Jihad against America will end is if America, among other things abandons the Middle East. That's not going to happen. America won't abandon Israel.
Another of Osama Bin Laden's demands is that America convert to Islam. That too is not going to happen. Before that could happen the first amendment to the Constitution of the United States would have to be repealed. I can see the press and the ACLU eagerly seeking to overturn the second amendment, but never the first.
The third thing Osama Bin Laden demands is an end to the immorality and godlessness of our society and culture. Many on the left should be alarmed by that, and many Euro-socialists as well. While a return to morality and to the God of our fathers would be good for the west, it's not likely to happen until Christ sets foot on the Mount of Olives.
The fact of the matter is that Al Qaeda clearly believes that the conflict is between Islam and Western Civilization. For Kofi Annan to fail to see that is just another indication that the United Nations is led by a willfully blind and ignorant man.

Buh-Bye Sonics, And Good Riddance Too

The Sonics are definitely going to leave Seattle. That's the word from Clayton I. Bennett, chairman of the group that owns the Sonics.
Seattle “turned its back on the N.B.A.,” Mr. Bennett said in a telephone interview, and gave up its chance to build a “multipurpose” arena suitable for basketball, hockey and conventions.
...
The vote last week guarantees that the Sonics will leave their current home, KeyArena, in 2010, he said. The team may move to the Seattle suburbs and plans to talk to the State Legislature about that in coming weeks, but most people here think Mr. Bennett and his partners will move the team to Oklahoma City.

All I can say is don't let the door hit you in the backside when you leave! The taxpayers in Washington have paid enough blackmail to petulant multi-millionaires with sports teams over the years. It's about time that it stopped.

Lieberman a Wild Card in Iraq Policy

Last week, Stefan Sharkansky noted that thanks to the efforts of the Kos kids, Sen. Lieberman was now the most powerful man in the Senate. This week the Washington Post shows that he was right:
As Congress returns this week to Washington for a post-election session -- the final stint with Republicans in charge -- Lieberman is already asserting his status as a self-described political freelancer, beholden to neither party.
He has pledged to "sign up" with the Democrats for the 110th Congress but has made it clear that his motives are at least partly practical. By organizing with the party, even though he lost the Democratic primary to Ned Lamont, Lieberman will retain his 18 years of Senate seniority and rise to the chairmanship of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
Both sides are seeking to please this political wild card.
Despite the plans of Rep. "Cut and Run" Murtha, it looks like we may still be able to achieve a victory in Iraq. It's not going to be easy though.

Speaker Pork?

Which is it going to be? Is Rep. Pelosi going to fight against pork or is she going to bring more pork home to the Bay Area? Her public statements so far say she's going to fight it, but newspapers in the bay area seem to be expecting her to bring it in...
WASHINGTON — Democrats aim to open the next Congress in January with a new rule that identifies lawmakers who use legislative "earmarks" to help special interests — a change Republicans promised but didn't implement.
House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi said her first agenda item after being elected House speaker will be a vote to require sponsors of earmarks to be identified. Currently, lawmakers can remain anonymous in sponsoring an earmark, which is language in a bill that directs funds or tax benefits to a business, project or institution.
"There has to be transparency," the California congresswoman told USA TODAY last week. "I'd just as soon do away with all (earmarks), but that probably isn't realistic."

SAN FRANCISCO - House Speaker Tip O'Neill secured down payments for Boston's Big Dig. Sam Rayburn sent gushers of cash back to Texas, along with tax breaks that helped its oil industry. Hospitals, schools and non-profits in Dennis Hastert's home town of Aurora, Ill. have seen millions roll in during his reign as speaker.
Now Rep. Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco is poised to follow them as House speaker -- a perch predecessors used to channel big cash to pet projects back home.
''There's a long tradition where not only can you bring back your average pork as a member of Congress, but speaker pork gives you a lot of money, a lot of influence over the purse,'' said Julian E. Zelizer, a congressional historian at Boston University.
Democrat Pelosi will be the first Californian to hold the post, and congressional watchdogs say they'll be observing her new spending clout with great interest.

Personally, I'm suspicious of all of this "new tone" talk I'm hearing from the Democrats lately. To put it mildly, I don't belie a word of it. The Democrats, just like all politicians, are pretty good at talking out of both sides of their mouths.
The talk of "bipartisanship" from the Democrats is just that, talk. When President Bush was elected he spoke of bringing a "new tone" to Washington politics. He reached out to the Democrats and had his hands slapped. The Democrats complained about his unilateral policies and bemoaned the lack of bipartisanship.
Sadly, to Democrats, a measure is bipartisan only when the Democrats get everything they want, and the Republicans get nothing.
I believe this is a lot of public relations spin designed to lull the people into thinking the Democrats are reasonable and cooperative, while getting ready to continue their aggressive opposition to administration policies.
Democrats just love socialism. Look at their plans for socialized medicine (in the guise of having the government negotiate prices with the pharmaceuticals industry). Look at their pandering regarding the minimum wage and their plans for income redistribution through taxation.
Big government is the means to big power for socialists. Pork spending is another means to big government.
I expect to see Rep. Pelosi bringing in as much pork as she can for the Bay Area, despite her assurances to USA Today last week. Remember, her lips are moving.

U.S. Admiral Backing Red China?
Published Mon, Nov 13 2006 8:21 AM

We learned last month that China may have provided crucial support to the North Korean nuclear program. Now we find that our own navy is supporting China's military efforts against us.
A Chinese submarine stalked a U.S. aircraft carrier battle group in the Pacific last month and surfaced within firing range of its torpedoes and missiles before being detected, The Washington Times has learned.
The surprise encounter highlights China's continuing efforts to prepare for a future conflict with the U.S., despite Pentagon efforts to try to boost relations with Beijing's communist-ruled military.
The submarine encounter with the USS Kitty Hawk and its accompanying warships also is an embarrassment to the commander of U.S. forces in the Pacific, Adm. William J. Fallon, who is engaged in an ambitious military exchange program with China aimed at improving relations between the two nations' militaries.
...
The incident is a setback for the aggressive U.S.-China military exchange program being promoted by Adm. Fallon, who has made several visits to China in recent months in an attempt to develop closer ties.
However, critics of the program in the Pentagon say China has not reciprocated and continues to deny U.S. military visitors access to key facilities, including a Beijing command center. In contrast, Chinese military visitors have been invited to military exercises and sensitive U.S. facilities.
Additionally, military intelligence officials said Adm. Fallon has restricted U.S. intelligence-gathering activities against China, fearing that disclosure of the activities would upset relations with Beijing.
The restrictions are hindering efforts to know more about China's military buildup, the officials said.
"This is a harbinger of a stronger Chinese reaction to America's military presence in East Asia," said Richard Fisher, a Chinese military specialist with the International Assessment and Strategy Center, who called the submarine incident alarming.
...
"The Chinese have made it clear that they understand the importance of the submarine in any kind of offensive or defensive strategy to deal with a military conflict," an intelligence official said recently.
...
The Pentagon's latest annual report on Chinese military power stated that China is investing heavily in weapons designed "to interdict, at long ranges, aircraft carrier and expeditionary strike groups that might deploy to the western Pacific."
Read more in The Washington Times.
That's just great. Adm. Fallon should be court-marshaled. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, the Chinese are not our friends. Despite the fact that they are probably the most powerful of all communist states, and that they continue to act as our adversary at the United Nations Adm. Fallon wants to help them build up their military.
This man is a brilliant military strategist. Brilliant in the way that Benedict Arnold was anyway. Brilliant in the way that a man who removes his front door, disables his alarm, and leaves all of his valuables in a brightly lit front room in a high crime neighborhood is brilliant.
Maybe this incident will serve to wake him up. What's a communist sympathizer doing leading our Navy?

We Will Win!
Published Mon, Nov 13 2006 1:14 AM
Despite the fact that the Democrats have won control of the House and the Senate, the United States will win the war on terror. I say this in spite of the likelihood that Rep. Murtha will probably become the new majority leader in the House. I say it in spite of the ACLU's attempts to gut every national security initiative in the past five years. I say it in spite of the continuous blaring of negative spin on the news from the New York Times and the network television news.
I say it despite the lack of support from most of our so-called allies in the world. In spite of the active opposition of France and Germany. In spite of the blindness, and indeed the active opposition, of parts of the United Nations.
I don't say this because of any particular faith in the Republican party either. I believe that in the war on terror the Republican's are a better choice of leadership than the Democrats, but the Republicans aren't going to save us.
I believe in the rightness of the cause of freedom against terrorism. That won't be our salvation either. Too many times in history have just and good causes been defeated by evil, even for generations.
What will save us in the war on terror is the faith and hope of the American people. Their will and resolve will be sorely tested. We'll suffer through political division. We'll suffer because our politicians are duplicitous and lacking in will. We'll suffer, because we are sleeping, lazy and slack, hedonistic, soft, and unrepentant.
Ultimately though the American people will wake up and fight back. Over time, the American people will see the evil that we face. They will see that it can't be negotiated with. They will see that it can't be appeased. They will see that retreat in the face of jihad will only lead to defeat after defeat. They will see, and they will rise up.
In World War II, after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, Japanese leaders came to realize that they had woken a sleeping giant. The American people's resolve, together with that of their allies led to victory in World War II.
The terrorists attack on the world trade center in September of 2001 was compared to the attack on Pearl Harbor. Yes, there were many parallels, but ultimately, the attack on 9-11 did little but cause the American people to stir fitfully in their sleep. We didn't awaken.
But we will. We will realize that we've stumbled along in our sleep, trying to fight a restrained war against an enemy hell-bent on destroying us. We will realize that we must fight back with all that we have to rid the world of the sick stain that has tainted it.
When we do realize it, and when we fight back with prayer, humility, and righteous resolve, we will win the war on terror. Until we do, we'll continue to suffer setbacks and humiliation in the war on terror, because our own guilt will keep us asleep, keep us from realizing that freedom is for all people, and that the evil that confronts us must be fought in every generation.
We will win. It's just a question of when.
